Sarah Adams has been a professional artist/illustrator of wildlife, animals and flowers for close to 40 years. Her paintings represent her lifelong interest in painting and drawing the beauties of the natural world from the smallest of Flowers, Butterflies and Birds of Britain through to the flamboyant Parrots and the more exotic Orchids from South America. Living deep in the countryside, Sarah is inspired by farm animals and the surrounding landscapes, while as a keen gardener she finds producing accurate botanical paintings of her plants a wonderful way to appreciate their beauty. Sarah has always loved the natural world and for as long as she can remember she has been drawing the creatures around her. Along with prints and originals her work can be seen on jigsaws, calendars, greeting cards and a variety of other products.
She studied Graphic Design at Medway College of Design but after graduation, she realized that she really wanted to paint plants and wildlife so she enrolled at the Dyfed College of Art in Carmarthen on the final year of a Wildlife Illustration Course. She graduated from there in 1979 with a distinction and immediately joined one of the top London Artist’s Agents, Artist Partners. Since 1982, her work has appeared in the R.S.P.B. Christmas catalogue and her paintings have been used on greetings cards for most of the major high-street stores. She has illustrated all sorts of plants and wildlife for advertising, for publishers, and for the packaging industry working for numerous clients including Usbourne Books, Which Magazine, The Oxford University Press and I.C.I.
