Still waters run deep so the phrase goes...and many of Natalie Avondet's works gleam with surface light, just as if they were submerged under those still waters. Her paintings evoke a hauntingly tender and soft spoken contemplation. Natalie is a gifted artist. She approaches the canvas without a formal plan; with dense areas of pure hue offset by listening silver leaf and often by subtly modulating tones, she allows the painting to present itself naturally. Much of her work can be found in print in various sizes at numerous online websites. Additionally, her designs can be found on throw pillows, bedding and rugs. A few of her pieces are currently on display at Grafica Fine Art Gallery and Framing at Big Bend Blvd. Her corporate clients include Conestoga-Rovers & Associates, St. Louis, MO, Metzler Bros. Insurance, Kansas City, MO, and Perficient, St. Louis, MO.
Natalie’s organic approach to painting, combined with the layer upon layer of color and texture she uses in her work allows for an unforced feeling to emerge, leaving the viewer contemplating each layer, and in most cases wondering what lies beneath. She has participated in many solo and group shows including those at Rm 39, Kansas City; VALA Gallery, Kansas City; VNH, Kansas City; Clayton Fine Art Gallery, Clayton; Glaspur Gallery, Kansas City; Underground Gallery, Kansas City; among other places. Her art is found in many private and corporate collections. Natalie’s passion for art has grown over the years and this passion has led her to a brilliant creative career.
