Susan Sabo creates very unique portraits for unique people. She just moved to Kalamazoo from Southern California, but she’s brought her style with her. Personal interactions, silly expressions, and funny faces, that is like wonderful inside jokes to families. Dogs and babies are his specialty; she loves them individually, but when put them together, the she feels more elated and awesomeness happens. Her clients like portraits that show who they actually are, not just portraits of what they look like. Her clients want the important stages of their lives to be properly documented in a genuine and professional way. No awkward family poses, no soft focus for them; and definitely no matching turtlenecks. She also shoots small weddings.
Just after five years of shooting the full-blown events, Susan decided that she likes the intimate, smaller kind. She donates her time and art to many non-profits, and has started to photograph shelter for a rescue group. Rescue work is close to her heart and she offers session discounts for those with shelter / rescued animals and also terminally ill or senior animals. Susan is a big fan of community. She makes her artwork available to non-profit fundraisers free of charge; for those who have events coming up and would like to auction some of her work, she encourages them not to hesitate to let her know what they've got going on. She specializes in animal portraits and environmental portraits, but also shoots whatever catches her eye and is worth bringing to the attention of her clients.
