Tom Haseltine has been a resident of Seattle since 1969. He’s a full-time professional photographer who exhibits at art festivals, juried shows and galleries throughout the western United States. As a Creative Uses Consultant for Polaroid, Haseltine also teaches photographic processes, shoots for stock agencies, corporate accounts, and many other assignment and advertising projects. Haseltine has worked for ad agencies and newspapers, advertising and product images, shot corporate brochures, fashion, portraiture, sporting events, weddings, travel and fine art. He’s an award-winning photographer whose work is found in many international and national collections. The artist enjoys the challenges of many photographic avenues and he’s widely published through calendars, cards, posters, magazines, newspapers, mouse pads and books. The photographer also markets one of the leading photographic note card lines in the Northwest.

This line features both his work and that of many prominent photographers in the region. Haseltine likes to travel a lot. He does so in search of material when hunting a concept or theme. He photographs much of his portfolio in Mexico, Egypt, Europe, Puerto Rico and Southeast Asia, as well as the United States. This gives him a rich international flavor to his work. His art inspires many upcoming artists. His art tells stories and is used to capture memorable moments. His emphasis is on the perceptual mode of photography. He strives for a “roam and shoot”, documentary, photojournalistic style in capturing his subjects. His is influenced by human condition or interaction, architecture, natural beauty, humor and incongruities, abstraction, and the contrasts of textures, colors, and cultures.
