Sylvia Coomes is a fine art photographer who currently resides in Tucson with her children, husband, and a puppy. She’s passionate about photography and all things unique. Sylvia is a self-taught fine art photographer raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma but born in Killeen, Texas. She always had a passion for the arts but becoming a photographer never crossed her mind and occurred only by a twist of fate. There’s a wedding show she attended in 2005 and the invited photographer did not show up for the wedding. Sylvia and the other guests captured the day’s events using their own cameras. From that day onwards, she started viewing the world in a beautiful and different way. She also started living and traveling through Europe, the United States and Asia.
These travels have greatly influenced her art as well as her life. Sylvia’s images are a timeline of the wonderful adventures she has had. "At the Fair", one of her most popular images was taken while she was living in Okinawa, Japan. Her designs and photos are available for a large variety of electronic device cases, home decor, and wall prints. She’s available for licensing work and her portfolio consists of palm trees and beaches of California, the beautiful mountains of Utah and the remarkable Greek Island of Santorini. Her approach to subject matter combines a contemporary interpretation to the subject with traditional skills and techniques, giving her photos a subtle and immediate impact. Her art has been exhibited in many leading shows and they can be seen in many galleries the world over.
